Accounting Clerk

Reports to: Financial Controller
 
Job Summary:
This position provides overall support to the day-to-day operations of the Finance team. This will be achieved through strong communication skills, being detail oriented, and working in a fast-paced environment. All decisions should be made with the following guidelines:

1.   Banking Duties
  • Post cash deposits, service charges, miscellaneous items, and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Bank Reconciliations for all bank accounts.
  • Company credit card reconciliations.
  • Follow up with Store Manager/Supervisor to investigate any missing deposits.
 
2.  Reconciliation and Reporting
  • Assist to reconcile balance sheet accounts and post entries as required.
  • Assist to update Capital Assets file and process monthly depreciation.
  • Assist to update Prepaids file and process costs as required.
  • Post product inventory movement to and between stores.
  • Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Process any required journal entries for account reconciliations.
  • Assist Financial Controller to create annual budgets and variance analysis.
  • Reallocation of charges between departments/stores
 
3.  Support Functions
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies/questions.
  • Help to finance team – AP processing, AR processing, and filing.
 
Qualifications
·       Knowledge of Accounting Principles.
·       1-year general accounting experience.
·       Computer literate – Advance Excel and Outlook / Teams required.
·       Attention to detail.
·       High level of accuracy.
·       Highly Organized.
·       Effectively Manages Time.
·       Customer Oriented Approach.
·       Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal) 
·       Ability to work independently.

Compensation

$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
