Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Store Manager – Sewing & Alterations to lead our team in delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality clothing alterations. This role requires strong expertise in tailoring, alterations, and industrial sewing machines, as well as proven experience in a supervisory or managerial position. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional who can oversee daily store operations while ensuring that alteration services meet our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Alterations & Technical Expertise
- Perform professional clothing alterations, ensuring a perfect fit for customers.
- Conduct fittings, provide expert recommendations, and execute alterations with precision.
- Operate industrial sewing machines (Blind Stitch, Cover Stitch, and Serger).
- Uphold quality control standards to guarantee customer satisfaction.
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide an excellent in-store experience by guiding customers through the fitting process.
- Assist customers in selecting the best alteration options for their needs.
- Meet and exceed sales and alteration goals while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer concerns and manage redo requests professionally.
Management & Administration
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff performance.
- Schedule and manage store staff efficiently while maintaining labor cost targets.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure smooth store operations.
- Assist in approving timesheets and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in clothing alterations, including fitting and finishing.
- Strong proficiency in using industrial sewing machines.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a retail or tailoring environment.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
